The Counseling Corner
School counseling is an important part of supporting the whole student. At Seymour Junior High, our counseling program is designed to help students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and personally as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of the junior high years. Through classroom lessons, individual support, small groups, and collaboration with families and staff, we work to equip students with practical skills they can use both now and in the future.
Throughout the year, students will explore topics such as academic habits, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, goal setting, decision-making, career exploration, and mental health awareness. Our goal is to help students better understand themselves, make responsible choices, build positive relationships, and develop the confidence and skills needed for continued success. School counseling is most effective when students, families, educators, and the community work together, and we value that partnership as we help each student reach their fullest potential.
